Client Information
This document sets out the estimated timelines for each service offered by Marida Business Services. All timelines are estimates only. They are subject to verification, review, and processing by the relevant government body or regulatory authority — which Marida Business Services does not control. Timelines begin from the point of payment confirmation and receipt of all required client information and documents.
Covers registration of a sole proprietorship or partnership business name with the Corporate Affairs Commission, including name availability check (up to three proposed names), form completion, statutory fee payment, and digital issuance of the Business Name Certificate via the CAC portal.
Covers full incorporation under CAMA 2020, including name reservation, preparation of the Memorandum and Articles of Association (MEMART), director and shareholder filing, statement of compliance, and issuance of the Certificate of Incorporation. Where CAC raises queries, additional time will be required for resolution before approval.
This registration requires mandatory publication of the proposed name in two newspapers — one local, one national — and a legally required 28-day public objection period before CAC can proceed to review. Only after the objection period closes without challenge can the full application be reviewed and approved. This is a government-mandated process. Marida Business Services manages all stages on your behalf.
Cooperative registration is handled at the state level through the relevant State Ministry responsible for cooperatives (FCT, Kogi State, and others). The timeline depends on the workload of the state cooperative registrar and whether additional queries are raised during review. Marida Business Services handles registration in available states.
Covers online application submission to SCUML via the EFCC portal, document upload, and review by the relevant SCUML zonal office. The SCUML certificate must be collected in person from the applicable zonal office. Timeline may vary based on zonal office workload or additional queries raised during review.
Handled by the Nigerian Intellectual Property Office (NIPO). The process includes a trademark search, application filing with Power of Attorney, NIPO examination and acceptance, publication in the Trade Marks Journal, a 60-day opposition period, and issuance of the Certificate of Registration. This is a standard government timeline that applies to all applicants. Marida Business Services manages the filing, follow-up, and correspondence throughout.
Tax Identification Number registration is processed through the Joint Tax Board (JTB) portal. From January 2026, NIN numbers serve as individual Tax IDs and CAC registration numbers serve as business Tax IDs under the Nigeria Tax Administration Act — in such cases, a separate TIN application may not be required. Marida will advise on the applicable route for your situation.
Covers employer pension code registration with the National Pension Commission (PENCOM), required for businesses enrolling employees into the contributory pension scheme. Marida Business Services handles the application and submission on your behalf. Timeline is subject to PENCOM's review and approval process.
Covers Retirement Savings Account (RSA) registration for individuals and employer pension setup for businesses. Individual RSA registration requires a valid NIMC slip and passport photograph. Employer setup additionally requires CAC documents and employee details. Marida Business Services coordinates submission on your behalf.
Includes annual returns filing, director changes, share allotments, and other post-incorporation updates required under CAMA 2020. Timelines depend on the nature of the update and CAC's processing queue at the time of filing. Marida Business Services handles preparation and submission on your behalf.
A CAC Status Report provides an official summary of a registered entity's current filing status, directors, shareholders, and other registered particulars. Marida Business Services processes and retrieves this on your behalf through the CAC portal.
Marida Business Services provides guidance and documentation support to assist clients in opening a corporate bank account following registration. The timeline is determined entirely by the chosen bank's internal KYC and AML review process, which varies across institutions. Marida's role is to ensure your documentation is complete and properly prepared before submission to the bank.
This is an advisory service with no government processing timeline attached. Delivery is agreed between the client and Marida Business Services based on the scope of the advisory required.
All timelines are estimates only. Delays may occur due to government agency workload, policy changes, portal downtime, public holidays, or verification requirements beyond our control. Timelines begin from the point of payment confirmation and receipt of all required client documents — not from the date of initial enquiry. Marida Business Services is not liable for delays caused by government agencies or third-party platforms.
